The peanut allergy

The peanut allergy is the second most common food allergy in children in the US and is increasing. It occurs in about 1 in 50 children and 1 in 200 adults: peanut is the most likely food to cause anaphylaxis and death. Peanut allergy most commonly becomes evident during infancy and preschool years, usually the very first time an infant or toddler is given a piece of toast with peanut butter. This data design project was done to communicate the peanut allergy to an american audience, the most affected by this allergy, in order to discern clearly the topic, make the people understand what they are dealing with and, consequently, help them face it. All the data are from the FDA, the University of Michigan and the Addendum National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases.
